Wike Condemns Police, Vows Law After Demolishing Illegal Estate

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has strongly criticized the Nigerian Police Force for defying urban planning laws, leading to the demolition of its own multi-million naira housing estate. The illegal estate, located in the Gudu district of Abuja, was built directly under high-tension power lines and on land reserved for a future bridge. NAPTIP rescues 8 stolen children from Delta orphanage

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has rescued eight children suspected to have been stolen from Kano and neighbouring states and trafficked to the South. The operation, carried out in Asaba, Delta State, followed a raid on a popular orphanage by NAPTIP in collaboration with the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigerian Police, and civil society groups. Police Arrest Suspected Cultist for Rape Attempt in Akwa Ibom

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested a notorious cultist and armed robbery suspect, Happiness Alphonsus Iseyen, for allegedly attempting to defile a teenager. The 26-year-old suspect, a resident of Ini Local Government Area, was apprehended on August 28, 2025, following a tip-off from a concerned citizen. According to the police spokesperson, DSP Timfon John, detectives acted swiftly after receiving information on August 27, 2025. The suspect was tracked down and arrested around 1:40 PM. During a search, a locally-fabricated gun with one live cartridge was recovered from Iseyen's possession.
