Nigerian Army renovates 91 year old primary school in Sokoto

The Nigerian Army has renovated the 91 year old Magajin Rafi Model Primary School in Sokoto State under the Chief of Army Staff Special Intervention Civil Military Cooperation Scheme. The project was executed on the recommendation of Major General Abbas Idris, an alumnus of the school. At the inauguration on Saturday, Governor Ahmed Aliyu, represented by his deputy Idris Gobir, described the gesture as a powerful way of giving back and a major contribution to education in the state. Aliyu said primary education is the bedrock of development, shaping future leaders and determining long term success. Troops destroy terrorist camps, rescue kidnap victims in Kwara operations

Troops of 22 Armoured Brigade of the Nigerian Army have launched sustained offensive operations against terrorist and bandit groups in Kwara State, destroying multiple camps and rescuing kidnap victims. Army spokesperson Captain Maureen Ogbuka said the week long operations were carried out with support from the Office of the National Security Adviser under the leadership of Major General Chinedu Nnebife, GOC 2 Division and Commander Sector 3 Operation Fansan Yamma, and Brigadier General Nicholas Rume, Commander 22 Brigade. Two dismissed soldiers arrested for robbery as police recover three cars in Ibadan

Two dismissed soldiers of the Nigerian Army, David Okhaie and Balogun Afolabi, have been arrested by the Oyo State Police Command for alleged armed robbery in Ibadan.​ Spokesman of the Command, Ayanlade Olayinka, said the suspects were tracked and arrested by operatives of the Monitoring Unit following credible intelligence and an intense manhunt within the Ibadan metropolis. Army rescues 62 hostages, kills two terrorists in Kebbi, Zamfara

The Nigerian Army has rescued 62 hostages and neutralised two terrorists in renewed operations against bandits in Kebbi and Zamfara states. Troops repel terrorist drone strikes, maintain battlefield edge

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have repelled terrorist drone attacks during operations along the Timbuktu Triangle in Borno State, maintaining control of the area. Army announces surrender of 80 militants in Cross River

The Nigerian Army has confirmed that 80 militants operating in Cross River State have voluntarily surrendered under the state government’s amnesty programme. Army troops rescue 18 passengers from sea pirates off Cameroon coast

Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 13 Brigade have rescued 18 passengers, including two infants, after suspected sea pirates hijacked a passenger boat on the Nigeria Cameroon route. The attack happened on January 11 near Kombo Fishing Port within Cameroonian waters while the boat was travelling from Nigeria to Cameroon.​ Army spokesperson Major Yemi Sokoya said the pirates, operating in two speed boats and a wooden boat, seized the passenger vessel and abducted all those on board. Nigerian Army warns public about fake social media accounts impersonating COAS

The Nigerian Army has warned the public about fake social media accounts created by fraudsters claiming to represent the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu. The alert was issued in a statement on Friday by Army spokesperson Colonel Apollonia Anele.​ Anele clarified that the Chief of Army Staff does not operate any official social media account on any platform.
