Nigerian Army renovates 91 year old primary school in Sokoto

The Nigerian Army has renovated the 91 year old Magajin Rafi Model Primary School in Sokoto State under the Chief of Army Staff Special Intervention Civil Military Cooperation Scheme. The project was executed on the recommendation of Major General Abbas Idris, an alumnus of the school. At the inauguration on Saturday, Governor Ahmed Aliyu, represented by his deputy Idris Gobir, described the gesture as a powerful way of giving back and a major contribution to education in the state. Troops destroy terrorist camps, rescue kidnap victims in Kwara operations

Troops of 22 Armoured Brigade of the Nigerian Army have launched sustained offensive operations against terrorist and bandit groups in Kwara State, destroying multiple camps and rescuing kidnap victims. Two dismissed soldiers arrested for robbery as police recover three cars in Ibadan

Army rescues 62 hostages, kills two terrorists in Kebbi, Zamfara

The Nigerian Army has rescued 62 hostages and neutralised two terrorists in renewed operations against bandits in Kebbi and Zamfara states. Army announces surrender of 80 militants in Cross River

Army troops rescue 18 passengers from sea pirates off Cameroon coast

Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 13 Brigade have rescued 18 passengers, including two infants, after suspected sea pirates hijacked a passenger boat on the Nigeria Cameroon route. The attack happened on January 11 near Kombo Fishing Port within Cameroonian waters while the boat was travelling from Nigeria to Cameroon.​ Army spokesperson Major Yemi Sokoya said the pirates, operating in two speed boats and a wooden boat, seized the passenger vessel and abducted all those on board. The Nigerian Army has warned the public about fake social media accounts created by fraudsters claiming to represent the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu.
