Kebbi denies reports of new insurgent group
The Kebbi State Government has denied reports that a new insurgent group is operating in the state. The State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed, said the claim is false and should not be taken as confirmed news. He explained that Kebbi, like other parts of northwestern Nigeria, still faces security challenges, but there is no verified report of a new group known as Sai Mallam. The commissioner urged residents to avoid sharing unconfirmed information that could create fear in the state. He added that the government remains focused on working with security agencies to address insecurity and protect communities.
