Super Falcons eye revenge in second friendly against Cameroon

Nigeria’s Super Falcons are set to face Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses again on Tuesday in Yaounde, aiming to bounce back from a narrow 1–0 defeat in their first pre WAFCON 2026 friendly. Both teams are using the two–match series, played at the Military Stadium in the Cameroonian capital, to fine tune tactics and assess players ahead of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. In Saturday’s opener, the Falcons created several chances but were undone by a late goal, leaving head coach Justin Madugu and his players determined to respond with a stronger performance in the second game. Ajibade leads Super Falcons camp as Cameroon friendlies begin

Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade and 16 other players have arrived in camp at the Hilton Hotel, Yaounde, ahead of two pre WAFCON friendly matches against Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses.​ Both friendlies will be played at the Military Stadium in Yaounde on Saturday, 28 February, and Tuesday, 3 March. The games are part of both teams’ preparations for the 14th Women Africa Cup of Nations, which will hold in Morocco from 17 March to 3 April 2026.​ Reigning champions and 10 time winners Nigeria will play in Group C alongside Zambia, Egypt and debutants Malawi, opening their title defence against Malawi on 18 March in Casablanca. Nigeria, Cameroon renew rivalries ahead of 2026 WAFCON

Nigeria’s Super Falcons will rekindle their fierce rivalry with the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon in a double header friendly series arranged as part of preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. The Nigeria Football Federation confirmed that the reigning African champions will face Cameroon in Yaoundé on Saturday, February 28, and again on Tuesday, March 3, during the FIFA women’s international window.
