Soldiers and policemen foil ISWAP attack on Borno school, rescue 46 students
Soldiers and policemen have foiled an attack by suspected ISWAP terrorists on a school in Borno State, rescuing 46 students. Security sources said the attackers targeted the school while students were writing examinations, but troops of Operation Hadin Kai and police operatives responded quickly and engaged the gunmen in a fierce battle. According to the military, the joint operation forced the terrorists to abandon their plans and flee, allowing the security forces to safely evacuate the students from the area. Some of the would-be abductees were briefly taken away during the chaos, but were later rescued after ground troops, backed by air support and surveillance, tracked the militants and confronted them around nearby communities.
