Former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (retd.), has praised President Bola Tinubu’s performance, saying the administration is doing well across key sectors of national life.​He spoke with State House correspondents after a private meeting with the President at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. Boko Haram has lasted longer than civil war Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo says the Boko Haram insurgency has now lasted for about 15 years, making it longer than the Nigerian civil war. He described the prolonged conflict as a serious failure in addressing insecurity and development challenges in the country.​ Obasanjo spoke while comparing the three year civil war to the insurgency which began around 2009 and has continued despite several military operations. UNICEF Urges Massive Investment in Digital Skills as Youth Population Surges

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has called for urgent, large-scale investment in digital skills to prepare Nigeria’s rapidly expanding youth population for the jobs of the future. Speaking at a media dialogue in Lagos, UNICEF’s Chief of Field Office, Celine Lafoucriere, warned that failure to act now could deepen inequality and undermine Nigeria’s development. By 2030, Nigeria will be home to an estimated 126 million children, making it one of the world’s youngest nations.
