Mexico: US agents lacked approval for operation

The Mexico has said that two US agents who died in a car crash last weekend were not authorised to carry out operations on its territory. According to officials, the agents—reported to be linked to the CIA—had taken part in a raid targeting suspected drug laboratories in the northern state of Chihuahua. Their vehicle later veered off a mountain road and exploded. Following an investigation ordered by President Claudia Sheinbaum, Mexico’s security ministry stated that neither agent had formal accreditation to participate in operational activities. It also confirmed that federal authorities had not been informed of their presence. Immigration records showed that one of the agents entered the country as a visitor, while the other travelled on a diplomatic passport. Mexican law prohibits foreign agents from engaging in operations without prior government approval. The crash, which occurred on 19 April, […]

NDLEA arrests wanted drug kingpin after 13 years on the run

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has arrested a wanted drug kingpin, Reginald Peter Chidiebere, who had been in hiding for 13 years over cocaine and heroin trafficking. The NDLEA said Chidiebere first entered its net in 2013 over a cocaine shipment and was arraigned before Justice Ayokunle Faji of the Federal High Court in Lagos, but he jumped bail and disappeared. The agency disclosed that after a series of seizures linked to him, Chidiebere could no longer sustain life in hiding and eventually surrendered to NDLEA operatives on February 13, 2026. He is now in custody and will face his long pending 2013 charges as well as […]

India deports 32 Nigerians over alleged drug network links

Indian authorities have deported 32 Nigerians after a nationwide crackdown on an alleged transnational drug network operating across several major cities. The deportations came less than two weeks after around 50 Nigerian suspects were arrested in coordinated raids led by India’s Elite Anti Narcotics Group for Law Enforcement, known as EAGLE, working with Delhi Police. Investigators say the network was allegedly controlled by a Nigeria based kingpin identified only as “Nick,” who is wanted in multiple drug trafficking cases in India. Officials claim all the Nigerians arrested in Delhi were working for the fugitive mastermind, who is believed to have about 100 associates in the city alone. A forensic review of seized phones and laptops reportedly showed a client base of more than 3,000 people across India, pieced together from payment records, encrypted chats and delivery contacts. The syndicate is […]
