How Muntaka narrowly escaped the deadly helicopter crash
On 6 August 2025, a Ghana Armed Forces Harbin Z-9 helicopter crashed near Adansi Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region. The tragedy claimed the lives of eight people—including Defence Minister Edward Omane Boamah and Environment Minister Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed—as confirmed by multiple sources. No one on board survived. Among those originally scheduled to fly was Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak.
