NDLEA Foils Shipment of High-Potency Drugs Hidden in Water Purifiers
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has foiled a shipment of high-potency opioids concealed inside industrial water purifiers, disrupting yet another sophisticated attempt to move dangerous drugs through Nigeria. According to the agency, the intercepted consignment contained large quantities of powerful opioids similar to those previously recovered from illegal warehouses, including high-strength tramadol and other controlled pharmaceutical substances. The traffickers allegedly packed the drugs in sealed compartments within the water purifiers to evade detection during routine checks. NDLEA officials said credible intelligence led operatives to the cargo before it could leave the country, with the operation coordinated alongside other security and port authorities.
