North Korea has fired two rounds of ballistic missiles toward the sea off its east coast, according to South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff. The launches, carried out from the eastern coastal region around Wonsan, mark Pyongyang’s second straight day of missile tests. Seoul’s military said it detected “multiple ballistic missiles” on Wednesday morning but was still analysing their exact type, range and altitude. The projectiles flew toward the East Sea, also known as the Sea of Japan, before falling into waters outside Japan’s exclusive economic zone, Japanese officials said in a separate statement.
