Machado says she has no regrets gifting Nobel medal to Trump
Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado says she does not regret symbolically gifting her Nobel Peace Prize medal to US President Donald Trump earlier this year. Speaking at a news conference in Madrid, Machado said there is a world leader who risked the lives of his own citizens for Venezuela’s freedom, referring to Trump. She described his actions as something Venezuelans will never forget. Machado handed her Nobel medal to Trump during a visit to the White House in January, just two weeks after he ordered US forces to attack Caracas and capture Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro.
