Cristiano Ronaldo Becomes Football’s First Billionaire

Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has officially become the first footballer to reach billionaire status, according to a Bloomberg report. The 40-year-old Al-Nassr forward's net worth is now valued at $1.4 billion. This milestone is attributed to his massive career earnings from salaries, which exceed $550 million, and lucrative, long-term endorsement deals like his contract with Nike. His record-breaking move to Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr in 2022, where he earns an estimated £177 million per year, significantly boosted his wealth. Ronaldo has also extended his contract with the club for two more years. While his long-time rival Lionel Messi has also earned over $600 million in his career, the Bloomberg report confirms Ronaldo as the first active player to cross the billion-dollar threshold.
