Court rejects Nnamdi Kanu’s bid to leave Sokoto prison

The Federal High Court in Abuja has rejected an application by IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu seeking to be moved from the Sokoto Correctional Centre to a custodial facility closer to Abuja. Kanu had asked to be transferred to Kuje Custodial Centre in the Federal Capital Territory or Keffi Custodial Centre in Nasarawa State.​ He made the request through the Legal Aid Council in an ex parte application, arguing that a transfer would help him effectively pursue his appeal.
