Tinubu approves posting of four new envoys to key nations
President Bola Tinubu has approved the posting of four ambassador‑designates out of the 68 nominees confirmed by the Senate in December 2025. According to presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, the postings target some of Nigeria’s most strategic diplomatic partners. Tinubu confirmed Ambassador Ayodele Oke as ambassador‑designate to France and Colonel Lateef Are as ambassador‑designate to the United States of America. He also approved Ambassador Amin Dalhatu, former envoy to South Korea, as high commissioner‑designate to the United Kingdom. In addition, former Kebbi State governor Usman Isa Dakingari Suleiman was named ambassador‑designate to Turkey, where Tinubu is expected to pay a state visit next week.
