Controversial street pop artist Habeeb Okikiola, known as Portable, has again criticised his father, saying his life is better without him. Allwell Ademola to be buried tomorrow in Lagos

The burial committee for late Nollywood actress Allwell Ademola has released full details of her final rites after her death from a heart attack on December 27 at her home.​A service of songs will hold today, Thursday January 8, followed by a candlelight procession in her honour.​ According to the announcement, Allwell Ademola will be laid to rest tomorrow, Friday January 9, at Atan Cemetery in Yaba, Lagos.​Attendees are to receive customised T shirts at today’s event, while guests are expected to wear white shirts and jeans for the burial.​ Today’s activities will begin with a service of songs from 4pm to 6pm, followed by preparations for a candlelight procession from LTV 8 to Oregun Junction and back between 6pm and 7pm.​An artistes’ night will then hold at LTV 8, with closing remarks scheduled for 11pm.​

Petrol prices stay high despite Dangote slash

Many filling stations across Nigeria have yet to reduce their pump prices despite Dangote Refinery’s cut in ex depot price, which should see petrol sell at about N739 or N740 per litre. NDLEA arrests Lagos female drug kingpin

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has arrested a wanted female drug kingpin in Lagos after discovering 23.5 kilograms of cocaine hidden in her children’s room. The suspect was picked up during a raid on her residence following weeks of intelligence gathering and surveillance by NDLEA operatives.​ According to the agency, the cocaine was carefully concealed in bags and containers placed among children’s belongings to avoid detection.
