Lagos Closes Dowen College for Breaching Waste Management Rules

The Lagos State Government has sealed Dowen College in Lekki Phase 1 over allegations of improper waste disposal and violation of environmental regulations. Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, confirmed the closure on Wednesday via a post on X (formerly Twitter), stating that operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC) and the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) carried out the enforcement. According to Wahab, the action followed an earlier operation on Tuesday when LAGESC officials apprehended a man suspected of flouting waste disposal rules.
