Joshua back in UK as friends’ funeral holds
Anthony Joshua has returned to the United Kingdom after the fatal car crash in Nigeria that killed two of his close friends and left him hospitalised. The former world heavyweight champion arrived at London Stansted Airport on a private jet on Friday night and was taken home to continue his recovery. Joshua’s friends Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami died when chauffeur Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode reportedly drove into a stationary truck on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway. Joshua was taken to Duchess International Hospital in Lagos, where he stayed through the New Year and was described by authorities and family sources as being in a stable condition.
