Member of Parliament for Ofoase Ayirebi and former Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has compared the New Patriotic Party’s internal contest for the 2028 Flagbearer slot to the well-known Biblical story of King Solomon and the two women who fought over a child. Speaking to delegates in his constituency on Thursday, he said some aspirants were behaving like the woman in the story who preferred the baby be cut in half because she was not the true mother. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah Endorses Bawumia for 2028

Member of Parliament for Ofoase/Ayirebi, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has openly declared his support for former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, describing him as the New Patriotic Party’s most prepared and widely recognized candidate to lead the party into the 2028 general election. Speaking in an interview on Thursday, August 28, ahead of Dr. Bawumia’s filing of nomination forms to contest the NPP flagbearership, Mr. Oppong Nkrumah said Bawumia embodies the party’s conservative values and has the qualities needed to secure victory. “Dr. Bawumia is the most prepared and most recognized candidate across the country, with the pedigree and track record to win in 2028 and govern in 2029,” he stated in an interview with Citi News. He further emphasized that having been the face of the NPP in the 2024 elections, Dr. Bawumia remains the party’s strongest option going forward.
