Cross-border tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan have escalated following deadly strikes in the eastern Afghan province of Kunar Province, where at least seven people were killed and dozens injured, according to multiple sources. Among the injured are students and a professor from Kunar University. Taliban authorities reported that around 30 of the wounded were students, while overall casualties reached at least 75 people. India Hosts Taliban Delegation in Historic Diplomatic Reset

More than four years after the Taliban’s return to power in August 2021, which forced India to shut down its embassy in Kabul and evacuate diplomats amid the collapse of the Western-backed Afghan government, New Delhi has now extended a red-carpet welcome to the group’s leadership. The Taliban government on Saturday claimed that Washington’s special envoy Adam Boehler agreed to move forward with a US–Afghanistan prisoner exchange during a rare visit to Kabul. The US has offered a $5 million reward for information on his whereabouts, while Taliban officials deny involvement in his 2022 disappearance. Earlier this year, airline mechanic George Glezmann was freed after more than two years in detention, following a March visit to Kabul by Boehler. Boehler, joined on Saturday by former US envoy Zalmay Khalilzad, also met with […]
