El-Rufai arrives Federal High Court in Kaduna for bail ruling
Former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai has arrived at the Federal High Court in Kaduna for the ruling on his bail application in a fresh corruption case. Security was heightened around the court premises on Tuesday, with armed personnel deployed as Justice Rilwan Aikawa prepared to deliver the ruling. The court had earlier fixed Tuesday for the bail ruling after El-Rufai was arraigned on new charges filed by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC). Before heading to the Federal High Court, El-Rufai first appeared at the Kaduna State High Court at about 9 00 a.m., but proceedings there did not go as planned.
