Bono Region Records 252 More IDPs from Gbinyiri Land Clash
The Bono Regional Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Fati Kine-Lam, has confirmed that 252 more people displaced by the Gbinyiri clashes have arrived in the region. She explained that 250 of them are currently being sheltered in Tain District communities, while two others are at Suma-Ahnekro in Jaman North. This brings the total number of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Bono Region to around 800, including nearly 500 children. Most of them are being hosted in the Wenchi Municipality. The violence, which erupted on August 25 in Gbinyiri, Sawla/Tuna Kalba District of the Savannah Region, stemmed from a land dispute.
