Bandits burn Niger police station, church, abduct five in fresh attack

Bandits have again attacked Agwara local government area of Niger State, burning the divisional police station and a church and abducting about five residents in an early morning raid. The gunmen stormed Agwara in the early hours of Sunday, first overrunning the local police station before setting it ablaze. They later moved to the United Methodist Church in the town, where they burnt part of the building. This is the same area where about 300 pupils, students and teachers of St Mary’s Catholic School were abducted last year. Over 160 ECWA church members held by kidnappers in Kaduna, Kogi

More than 160 members of the Evangelical Church Winning All are currently being held by kidnappers in Kaduna and Kogi states, the church leadership has revealed. Police arrest 50 protesters after Ekpoma anti kidnap rally
