Banditry displaces over 500,000 residents in Niger, says Bago

Tinubu condemns Borno abductions, urges Nigerians to resist fear

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has condemned the recent terrorist attack and mass abductions in Ngoshe community, Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State, and urged Nigerians not to give in to fear. Plateau residents lament as serial attacks kill 19, farmlands abandoned

Residents of Plateau State say their communities are turning into wastelands as renewed attacks by gunmen leave more people dead and drive farmers off their lands. Gunmen kill two teenage herders, slaughter three cattle in Plateau

Gunmen have reportedly killed two teenage herders and slaughtered three cattle around Jol village in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State. The victims were attacked on Saturday while grazing their animals. State chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, Ibrahim Babayo, said the dead teenagers were identified as 18 year old Muhammad Sani and 17 year old Furuk Bilyaminu. At least 10 residents of Ndiche Umuomara village in Ndiagu Amagu, Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, have been injured in an attack by suspected political thugs. ACF warns of rising insecurity and poverty in North

The Arewa Consultative Forum has raised fresh alarm over worsening insecurity, deepening poverty and growing humanitarian crises across Northern Nigeria. Military launches Operation Savannah Shield in Kwara

The Defence Headquarters has launched Operation Savannah Shield in Kwara and parts of Niger State following last week’s deadly terrorist attack on Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ordered the deployment of a battalion of troops to the area after more than 100 people were killed in the raid.​ Defence spokesman Major General Michael Onoja said the new operation will track down and bring to justice the terrorists behind the Woro and Nuku killings.
