BREAKING: Police foil deadly bomb attack in Akure, arrest six suspects
The Ondo State Police Command says its operatives have foiled a planned bomb attack in Akure, the state capital, and arrested six suspects in connection with the plot. Commissioner of Police Lawal Adebowale told reporters in Akure that materials suspected to be components of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were recovered from the suspects. He described the operation as a “major breakthrough” for the command. Those arrested were identified as Adekunle Prosper (56), Ojo Olumide (39), Tope Kolawole (40), Ahmed Salihu (40), Bolaji Adebowale (46) and a female suspect, Gbadebo Abidemi (43).
