Nigeria’s mall economy, valued at about N2.5 trillion, has suffered a major setback following the complete shutdown of Shoprite outlets across the country. The popular retail chain, which once served as the main anchor tenant for many shopping malls, had been struggling in recent months with empty shelves and partial closures before finally going dark. Terrorists abduct travellers on major Kwara highway

Suspected terrorists have attacked the busy Isanlu–Isin–Omu Aran highway in Kwara State, abducting at least four passengers in an early morning ambush.  Man Stabs Friend to Death Over Woman in Ilorin

The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed that a 21-year-old man, Gafar, allegedly stabbed his 25-year-old friend, Usman Tunde, to death in Ilorin. The tragic incident occurred following an argument over a woman. According to police reports and eyewitnesses, the two friends, who lived in the same area, got into a dispute at a local vendor's stand. The argument escalated, and Gafar allegedly used a knife to stab Tunde in the chest. The victim was rushed to a hospital but was confirmed dead on arrival. The suspect, along with his family, has since fled the area, and the police have launched a manhunt to apprehend him. The Commissioner of Police has appealed for calm, commending residents for not resorting to jungle justice and assuring them that efforts are underway to ensure the suspect faces the law.
