Primary Elections: Nigerians Now Know You’re Liars, Wike Blasts ADC, NDC
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and former Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, has lambasted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), saying the outcome of their recent presidential primaries has exposed them as “liars” who have been deceiving Nigerians. Speaking in Abuja while reacting to the crisis and protests that trailed the opposition parties’ primaries, Wike said the ADC and NDC had presented themselves as messiahs and claimed they would conduct transparent, data-driven internal elections, only to be engulfed in allegations of manipulation at their first major test. “As small as the NDC is, it cannot hold its primary election without protests,” Wike said, mocking the party for failing to manage its internal processes.
