Nollywood actress Ufuoma McDermott has assured her fans that she is in good health and urged them to focus their prayers on Nigeria rather than on her. The actress recently trended on social media after a video of her emotional interview about battling kidney disease resurfaced online. Ikubese’s film Mzigo premieres in Lagos to raise sickle cell awareness

In a major step toward changing public perception of sickle cell anaemia, actor and filmmaker Emmanuel Ikubese has launched Mzigo (The Burden), a film dedicated to raising awareness about the disease and inspiring hope within the sickle cell community. The film, which stars Daniel Etim Effiong, Seun Ajayi, and Tanzanian actress Elizabeth Michael, was premiered at a private screening in Lekki, Lagos, as part of a broader initiative called the Mzigo Project. Rising Measles Cases Prompt Vaccination Drive in Ashanti Region.

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has raised concerns about the alarming increase in measles and rubella cases in the Ashanti Region. Over the past few years, the number of reported cases has grown significantly, rising from 9 in 2018 to 114 by mid-2024.Although Ghana has not recorded any child deaths from measles in the last 15 years, health experts are worried that if the current trend continues, it could lead to severe consequences, including disability or death among affected children.
