Tinubu condemns Borno abductions, urges Nigerians to resist fear

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has condemned the recent terrorist attack and mass abductions in Ngoshe community, Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State, and urged Nigerians not to give in to fear. He directed the Armed Forces and other security agencies to urgently rescue all those abducted during the assault, which was carried out by suspected Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists. The attack left several people dead and many others kidnapped shortly after residents had broken their fast on Wednesday evening. Refugees return home as Nigeria–Cameroon repatriation pact kicks in

A tripartite agreement between the Federal Government, Cameroon, Borno State and the UNHCR for the voluntary return of Nigerian refugees from Cameroon has begun yielding results, with displaced citizens now going back home. The deal covers Nigerians who fled Boko Haram and ISWAP attacks and have been living for years in camps such as Minawao in Cameroon.​ Former Senate Leader Ali Ndume commended President Bola Tinubu and the Borno State Government for fully activating the Yaoundé agreement signed in 2017. Ndume urges FG support for Borno IDPs resettlement amid insurgency

Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume has called on the Federal Government to urgently support Borno State in resettling, reconstructing and rehabilitating victims displaced by over a decade of insurgency. He made the appeal during a Christmas luncheon he organised with the Coalition of Christian Youths for IDPs at the Christian Association of Nigeria Centre in Borno.​ The event drew hundreds of displaced persons, traditional rulers, political leaders, religious figures and community stakeholders.
