Councillors hail LG autonomy, endorse Tinubu for 2027

The National Councillors Forum of Nigeria has declared support for President Bola Tinubu’s re election bid in 2027, describing restored local government autonomy as a major breakthrough for grassroots development.​ At a news conference in Abuja, the forum said the administration’s policies are changing lives in rural communities and making the Renewed Hope agenda visible across the country. Ndume warns northern anger over Tinubu may shape future elections

Senator Ali Ndume has warned that growing dissatisfaction in the North over the current state of governance could have serious electoral consequences if not addressed. Speaking on Arise Television’s Prime Time, the Borno South lawmaker said many northerners are unhappy and their frustration may eventually be reflected in their votes. He said anyone claiming there is no grumbling in the region is not being truthful.
