Staff shortage blamed for rising indiscipline at Accra Academy

According to the school’s headmaster, Mr Emmanuel Ofoe Fiemawhle, only 22 staff members currently reside on the school premises, overseeing a student population of nearly 5,000 boarders. Mr Fiemawhle raised these concerns during a visit by the Education Committee of Parliament to the school, where he described the staffing situation as inadequate for proper supervision. He noted that the limited number of resident staff, including hall masters and other auxiliary workers, makes it extremely difficult to maintain order and discipline among students in the boarding house.“We have 22 of our staff who serve as hall masters and other auxiliary workers. Lawyers are gearing up for court action against a company contracted by Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram, after meeting moderators at a facility in Ghana that is understood to employ about 150 people. Six people have been injured in a violent land dispute between residents of Danchira and Domeabra in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region. Finance Ministry submits bill to Parliament to end sole-sourcing of power contracts

Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson made the announcement on April 23 2025, during a session on the Ghana Energy Compact under Mission 300, organised by the World Bank.
