Ministry Rejects Bias Claims in Ridge Hospital Probe

The Ministry of Health has dismissed allegations of bias against the committee that investigated the alleged assault of a nurse at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, popularly known as Ridge Hospital. In an interview on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, the Public Relations Officer, Tony Goodmann, defended the process as thorough and impartial. He stressed that the recommendations were aimed at addressing systemic lapses rather than apportioning blame. “That is not correct. We engaged everyone, including the doctor who assessed the nurse. GHS140 Million Needed to Fully Operationalize Bokoro Agenda 111 Hospital – Health Minister Akandoh

Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, Ghana’s Minister for Health, has disclosed that an additional GHS140 million is required to fully operationalize the Bokoro Agenda 111 Hospital in the Ahanta West Municipality, Western Region, despite its commissioning three months ago.During a visit to the hospital on March 10, 2025, Akandoh emphasized that only 10% of the necessary medical equipment had been installed, leaving the facility non-functional since its inauguration. The hospital was officially opened by former President Nana Akufo-Addo just before the December 2024 elections.
