Eight Dead, Five Injured in Fatal Accident at Kormantse on Cape Coast–Accra Highway

A tragic road accident at Kormantse on the Cape Coast–Accra Highway has left eight people dead and five others injured, including a child and the driver of a truck. The crash occurred around 3:50 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025, and involved a Mercedes Benz with registration number AS 4146-25 and a Hino truck with registration number GW 5958-25. According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), several passengers managed to escape with the assistance of bystanders before the Mankessim Fire Rescue Team arrived. Bishop Salifu Amoako’s son gets six-month sentence.

A 16-year-old boy has been sentenced to six months at a Senior Correctional Centre after causing a tragic accident in East Legon that claimed the lives of two young girls. The boy, the son of Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako, founder of Alive Chapel International, was driving his mother’s Jaguar F-Pace Sport without a license when he lost control during a convoy of friends. The crash resulted in a violent collision with another vehicle, which led to a fire. The boy, who initially denied the charges, later pleaded guilty to manslaughter, dangerous driving, and more. The court also fined his parents GH₵12,000 for negligence and ordered Bishop Amoako to pay for the damages caused.

Seven Dead in Devastating Crash on Kumasi-Accra Highway.

A tragic accident on the Kumasi-Accra highway has claimed the lives of seven people. The collision occurred when a Sprinter bus, en route from Accra to Kumasi, collided head-on with a VIP bus traveling in the opposite direction. All five passengers aboard the Sprinter, which was carrying tomatoes, died instantly. One VIP passenger was also killed at the scene, while another later died at the hospital from injuries. Several other passengers from the VIP bus were rushed to Juaso Government Hospital for treatment. Firefighters recovered the bodies, which have been taken to Steward Mortuary in Yawkwei.
