Togo opens new agricultural mechanization hub

Le Togo a franchi une nouvelle étape dans la modernisation de son agriculture avec la mise en service du Centre régional de mécanisation agricole (CRMA) de Tové, dans la région des Plateaux. L’inauguration, tenue le 23 avril 2026 dans le cadre des célébrations de l’indépendance, a été présidée par le président de l’Assemblée nationale, Komi Sélom Klassou. Conçu pour couvrir la zone Plateaux-Ouest, ce centre ambitionne d’améliorer les performances du secteur agricole en facilitant l’accès à des services essentiels. Il propose notamment des solutions de mécanisation, la mise à disposition d’intrants, ainsi que des analyses de sols grâce à un laboratoire mobile. Burkina Faso Records Successful Plantain Harvest Under Agricultural Self-Sufficiency Initiative

A new milestone has been recorded in Burkina Faso’s agricultural ambitions as officials and agricultural stakeholders carried out a plantain harvest in Bobo-Dioulasso on February 21, 2026. The activity was led by the technical coordinator of the presidential initiative for agricultural production and food self-sufficiency alongside leaders of NAFASO. The harvest forms part of ongoing efforts to transform farming practices and expand crop production in line with the country’s national development vision. On the experimental site operated by NAFASO, dozens of plantain trees have grown successfully, with several already producing mature bunches ready for harvest. Speaking during an interview with Woezor TV on Sunday, 20 April, she highlighted the importance of youth involvement in agriculture as a means of securing sustainable livelihoods and national development.
