The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in the Northern Region has launched its 2024 Anti-Bushfire Campaign at Yung Duuni in the Sagnarigu Municipality. This initiative forms part of the Farmers' Day celebrations and aims to combat bushfires, which threaten farm produce and vegetation during the harmattan season.Themed “Effective Bushfire Prevention: Stakeholders’ Role in Ensuring a Greener Tomorrow,” the campaign emphasizes public education, collaboration, and actionable measures to mitigate bushfire risks.Addressing the community, ADOI Hudu Baba, speaking on behalf of Regional Fire Commander ACFOII Franklin Masiku, called for strong partnerships among the GNFS, traditional authorities, and District Assemblies.
