Two killed as tanker collides with motorcycle in Lagos

Two persons have died in Lagos after a tanker collided with a commercial motorcycle, also known as okada, in the early hours of Wednesday. The crash occurred along a busy corridor in the state and caused panic among road users before emergency responders arrived.​ According to preliminary information from traffic authorities, the tanker driver was allegedly speeding and lost control while attempting to manoeuvre through traffic. The vehicle rammed into the motorcycle, killing the rider and a passenger on the spot.​ Officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority quickly moved in to cordon off the area and prevent a secondary accident. Fire guts 10 shops at Oshodi Arena market

A fire on Tuesday evening destroyed about 10 shops at the popular Arena Market in Bolade, Oshodi, Lagos State. The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the incident in a statement by its Controller General, Margaret Adeseye.​ The agency said it received a distress call at about 5:50 p.m. and deployed firefighting units immediately.
