MultiChoice Ghana Denies Agreement on DStv Price Reduction
MultiChoice Ghana has dismissed claims that it has agreed to reduce subscription prices for DStv services, contradicting an earlier announcement by Minister of Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George. In a statement issued on Friday, September 5, the pay-TV operator clarified that while discussions with the government are ongoing, no final agreement has been reached regarding tariff reductions. “MultiChoice Group will fully participate in the established Working Committee. However, we wish to clarify that MultiChoice has not agreed to a price reduction,” the company stated. The clarification came shortly after Sam George told reporters that MultiChoice had expressed readiness to comply with a government directive to review tariffs before its suspension notice expires.
