Artemis II crew returns after record space journey
The crew of NASA’s Artemis II mission has safely returned to Earth after re-entering the atmosphere at speeds of up to 40,000 km/h, completing a historic journey that took them farther into space than any humans before. Their mission ended with a successful splashdown off the coast of California. During the flight, the astronauts traveled more than 4,000 miles beyond the previous human distance record set during the Apollo 13 mission in 1970, marking a new milestone in deep space exploration.
