Okoe Boye Defends $100m LHIMS Payments, Says Work Justified All Disbursements

Former Health Minister Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye has defended payments made under the $100 million Lightwave Health Information Management System (LHIMS) project, insisting that all funds disbursed during his tenure were based on verified work completed. His response follows allegations by current Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, who claimed the contract was marred by irregularities and had been referred to the Attorney-General for review and possible prosecution. According to Akandoh, the vendor received over $77 million despite completing less than half of the installations under the nationwide health digitization project.
