Troops Arrest Another Notorious Kidnap Suspect in Taraba
Troops of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army, Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), have arrested another suspected notorious kidnapper, Alhaji Abubakar Bawa, in Taraba State after a coordinated operation on November 23, 2025. Bawa is believed to be closely linked to Umar Musa, a kidnapping mastermind arrested by troops a day earlier in Wukari. Preliminary investigations have exposed the link between the suspects and a wider criminal syndicate believed responsible for multiple kidnappings and violent attacks across Southern Taraba. Brigadier General Kingsley Uwa, 6th Brigade Commander, praised the troops for their professionalism and operational accuracy. Uwa affirmed that the latest arrests signify the effectiveness of Operation Zafin Wuta in dismantling criminal networks and restoring security to communities in Southern Taraba. Residents are urged to remain vigilant and provide credible intelligence to support the ongoing security efforts.
