He stated that the Navy is actively involved in counterterrorism and internal security operations, partnering with the Army, Air Force, DSS, police, and other agencies nationwide. He emphasized that security is not solely the responsibility of military and police, calling on locals to aid recent security gains by sharing intelligence. Ongoing operations are tri-service and defence-led, with the Navy present in the north-east, north-west, south-south, and south-east—wherever threats arise.

Troops Neutralise 12 Terrorists, Recover Arms in Borno

Troops of the Joint Task Force, North East Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), have neutralised 12 suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State. Mafa, located about 60 kilometres from Maiduguri, has been one of the hotspots of insurgent activities in Borno Central. According to security sources, the operation took place between August 29 and 30, 2025, with troops, supported by local security outfits and the Air Component Command, carrying out coordinated long-range commando offensives.
