OSP Drops Ken Ofori-Atta from Wanted List After Return Promise

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has removed former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta from its list of wanted persons after he assured authorities of his voluntary return to Ghana.According to a statement from the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, Ofori-Atta’s legal team provided a specific date for his return, which the OSP found reasonable. As a result, the former minister is no longer considered a fugitive, and his scheduled appearance before the OSP has been rescheduled.However, the OSP warned that if Ofori-Atta fails to return as promised, he will be reinstated on the wanted list, and legal measures will be taken to secure his attendance.The former minister was declared wanted on February 12, 2025, after allegedly evading an invitation regarding corruption-related investigations, including issues surrounding the National Cathedral project.
