FG begins plans to evacuate Nigerians from South Africa over renewed attacks

The Federal Government has begun plans to evacuate Nigerians living in South Africa who wish to return home following renewed fears of attacks targeting foreign nationals. Officials say the move is a precautionary step to safeguard citizens amid rising anti immigrant tensions in several South African cities. According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu, at least 130 Nigerians have so far registered with Nigerian diplomatic missions for voluntary evacuation flights.
