President Tinubu Seeks Senate Confirmation for New Service Chiefs
President Bola Tinubu has formally asked the Nigerian Senate to confirm his newly appointed military service chiefs. The request was delivered in a letter read during Tuesday's plenary session by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio. The nominees for confirmation are: General Olufemi Oluyede - Chief of Defence Staff Major-General Waheedi Shaibu - Chief of Army Staff Rear Admiral Idi Abbas - Chief of Naval Staff Air Vice Marshal Kennedy Aneke - Chief of Air Staff Major-General Emmanuel Undiendeye - Chief of Defence Intelligence Following the reading of the letter, Senate President Akpabio referred the list to the "Committee of the Whole." This means the entire Senate will screen the nominees, with the confirmation process scheduled for next week.
