Pedal to Excellence Initiative Empowers 45 Adaklu Kids with Bicycles.

Forty-five children from Adaklu Abuadi, Kordiabe, and Helekpe no longer face the grueling 10-kilometer trek to computer classes, thanks to the "Pedal to Excellence" initiative by Friends of Adaklu (FOA). This project, supported by Christina and the Academy, provided 30 bicycles and helmets to enhance digital literacy access at the Good Life Centre in Adaklu Tsriefe.According to FOA’s Country Director, Madam Stella Kudah, the bicycles are part of efforts to improve attendance, focus, and learning outcomes. The bicycles are shared rotationally, with measures in place, including a sign-in system and parental oversight, to ensure proper use.Parents, such as Johnson Kumafo, lauded the program, which alleviates the physical strain on children while boosting their interest in computing. New Juaben North Schools Targeted in Drug Abuse Awareness Program.

The Eastern Regional Command (ERC) of the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has initiated a vital four-day drug awareness program aimed at educating students in basic schools within the New Juaben North Municipality. Held on October 16, 18, 23, and 25, 2024, the initiative is part of NACOC's mandate under Act 1019 to reduce drug demand and minimize the harm associated with narcotic substances.Participating schools, including Akwadum Methodist JHS, Asokore Methodist JHS, Oyoko Methodist JHS, and Effiduase Methodist A & B JHS, engaged in various educational activities, such as presentations, group discussions, and photo exhibitions showcasing the dangers of drug abuse.
