Wike Deserves National Apology Over Clash With Naval Officer — PANDEF
The Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) has called for a national apology to the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, following his clash with a naval officer in Abuja. PANDEF National Chairman, Ambassador Godknows Igali, urged President Tinubu to direct security agencies to investigate fully and bring those responsible to book, emphasizing respect for civil authority and professionalism in the military. Igali described the officer’s actions as a show of disdain for Wike’s office and an affront to presidential authority, noting Wike as one of the administration’s best-performing ministers. PANDEF insisted military personnel should not be used for non-core duties like guarding personal properties, and that Wike deserves both protection and respect while carrying out his official mandates in the FCT. The organization warned against glamorizing military insubordination and criticized retired officers allegedly issuing illegal orders.
