Police, Military Secure Savannah Region

The Ghana Police Service, in collaboration with the Ghana Armed Forces and other stakeholders, has intensified security operations in Sawla, Gbiniyiri, Giniri, and nearby communities in the Savannah Region following recent communal clashes. Security reinforcement teams have been dispatched to maintain law and order while restoring calm in the affected areas. Their presence is aimed at preventing further escalation and ensuring the safety of residents. The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, is personally leading a delegation from the National Police Headquarters to assess the security situation on the ground.
