Ansa-Asare: Torkornoo’s Conduct Hurt Her Case

Former Director of the Ghana School of Law, Kwaku Ansa-Asare, has suggested that former Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo’s failure to regain her position was due to her confrontational conduct during the removal process. Speaking on The Pulse on JoyNews, Ansa-Asare said her approach only worsened her case. “The CJ did not give herself any chance to be heard appropriately. The confrontational attitude she took made it impossible for her to resume her official duties. She was so abrasive, taking the government here and there, going to ECOWAS,” he explained. Afenyo-Markin Slams Removal of Chief Justice Torkornoo

The Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has strongly criticized the removal of Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo, calling the process flawed and politically motivated. Speaking to journalists in Akwatia during Tuesday’s by-election on September 2, Mr. Afenyo-Markin questioned the grounds for the dismissal, noting that the Article 146 Committee reportedly concluded findings on only one of the three charges leveled against her. “We are mourning democracy.
