Chris Brown Denies Assault Charge in London Incident R&B superstar Chris Brown has pleaded not guilty to an assault charge connected to a bottle attack at a Mayfair nightclub in February 2023 . The Grammy-winning singer appeared in Southwark Crown Court on Friday , just hours after performing in Cardiff, Wales , as part of his ongoing U.K. tour. He faces one main charge of attempted grievous bodily harm against music producer Abraham Diaw . Two new charges were also introduced before the hearing: assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon . His arraignment on those counts was postponed until July 11, 2025 .
