Former US President Donald Trump has dismissed the possibility of a war with Venezuela but said that the country’s leader, Nicolas Maduro, will not remain in power for long. Speaking in a CBS “60 Minutes” interview aired on Sunday, Trump said he did not believe the United States was preparing for war against Venezuela, even as Washington increases its military presence in the Caribbean. “I doubt it. I don’t think so,” Trump said when asked about the prospect of US military intervention. However, when pressed on whether Maduro’s days as president were numbered, Trump replied, “I would say yeah.
