Tinubu condemns Borno abductions, urges Nigerians to resist fear

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has condemned the recent terrorist attack and mass abductions in Ngoshe community, Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State, and urged Nigerians not to give in to fear. He directed the Armed Forces and other security agencies to urgently rescue all those abducted during the assault, which was carried out by suspected Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists. The attack left several people dead and many others kidnapped shortly after residents had broken their fast on Wednesday evening. Troops kill eight terrorists in Borno, seize RPGs, guns and armed drone

Nigerian troops have killed eight Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists in separate clashes in Borno State and recovered heavy weapons, including rocket propelled grenades, rifles and an armed drone. The Joint Task Force North East, Operation Hadin Kai, said the engagements took place around Forward Operating Base Mayanti, Gajigana and Gajiram during recent attempts by terrorists to attack military positions. Troops kill five terrorists, rescue three abducted children in Borno

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have neutralised five terrorists and rescued three abducted children in separate operations carried out in Borno State. The Joint Task Force said the operations took place between February 20 and 21 as part of ongoing efforts to crush insurgent groups in the North East. ISWAP second in command killed as military steps up Sambisa offensive

Refugees return home as Nigeria–Cameroon repatriation pact kicks in

Troops arrest 65‑year‑old woman over drugs for Boko Haram

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested a 65‑year‑old woman, Hauwa Abulazeez, for allegedly supplying cannabis sativa to Boko Haram terrorists in parts of Borno State. She was picked up in Askira Uba Local Government Area during Operation Desert Sanity V.​ Military spokesman Lt Col Sani Uba said Hauwa is suspected to be a key conduit, distributing cannabis to Boko Haram elements operating around Askira Uba, Rumirgo, Gwahi, Wamdiyo, Uvu and Gaya, as well as several nearby communities. Police deploy 1000 officers after Maiduguri mosque bombing

The Borno State Police Command has deployed more than 1,000 officers across Maiduguri and other key locations in the state after the bomb attack on a mosque that killed five people and injured 35 others. The explosion happened on Wednesday evening at Al Adum Mosque in the Gamboru Market area of Maiduguri while worshippers were observing the Maghrib prayer.
