Boca Juniors Manager Miguel Angel Russo Dies at 69

Miguel Angel Russo, the manager of Argentine football giants Boca Juniors, has died at the age of 69. The Argentine Football Association announced the news on Wednesday. Russo's health had reportedly deteriorated in recent weeks. While the club did not specify the cause, Argentine media linked it to complications from a urinary tract infection; Russo had been diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2017. In a statement, Boca Juniors expressed "profound sadness," noting that Russo leaves "an indelible mark on our club." His last match in charge was on September 21st. Russo was a highly respected figure in Argentine football. His greatest managerial achievement was leading Boca Juniors to victory in the 2007 Copa Libertadores. He was known for his dedication, famously coaching Colombian side Millonarios to a title in 2017 just one day after undergoing chemotherapy.
